Cedar Creek Golf Course

Cedar Creek Golf Course brings a Hill Country setting to San Antonio’s municipal golf options. The eighteen-hole layout is located northwest of the city, north of Loop 1604 near Kyle Seale Parkway. Originally opened in 1989, it was renovated and reopened in late 2024, with Jeffrey D. Blume credited for the renovation work.

Rolling hills and more pronounced elevation changes are central to the experience. A shot may play differently from its measured yardage, so consider the target’s height and the shape of the ground. Choose a club that reaches a comfortable landing area, and use a balanced swing when the lie is uneven. Distance is only one part of the decision.

Doglegs add another reason to plan from the tee. Four tee options are listed from roughly 5,500 to 7,100 yards, giving players a range of challenges. Select a length that fits your everyday game, then decide which side of each fairway leaves the clearest approach. A safe position can make the next shot much simpler than an ambitious line through trouble.

The greens have multiple tiers, making approach placement and putting speed important. Aim for the correct section when the shot is realistic, but avoid chasing a difficult flag at the expense of a safe landing. Cedar Creek has a driving range, so allow time to warm up and then assess the putting surfaces. Confirm the day’s practice access before arriving.

The course is at 8250 Vista Colina in San Antonio. Use the Alamo City Golf Trail website or course phone to check current tee times, rates, carts, rentals, and maintenance notices. Ask about any conditions that could affect your group, especially after weather changes. Bring water and suitable clothing for the forecast. Arrive early enough to check in and prepare. Cedar Creek offers a public round where terrain, target selection, and attention around the greens shape the day.
